Last Updated: June 2, 2026
Welcome to BookForge. BookForge is a product operated by Journeful LLC. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of BookForge, including our website, software, book creation tools, AI-assisted planning and drafting features, formatting tools, image and cover tools, export features, payment features, and related services collectively referred to as the Service.
By accessing BookForge, creating an account, uploading content, generating a book plan, purchasing a book package, generating chapters, exporting a book, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use BookForge.
1. Protected Parties
For purposes of these Terms, BookForge, Journeful, we, us, and our include BookForge, Journeful LLC, and their parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, service providers, licensors, successors, and assigns.
Any disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnification, release, defense obligation, and protection in these Terms applies to all protected parties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
2. About BookForge
BookForge is a guided book creation platform that helps users turn an idea, story, notes, research, outline, draft, or personal knowledge into a finished book.
BookForge may help with book planning, title and subtitle ideas, outlines, chapter summaries, sample chapters, chapter generation, rewriting and editing support, formatting guidance, cover direction, image generation when selected, PDF and DOCX export, book organization, and project management.
You remain responsible for the final book and any decision to publish, sell, submit, distribute, or share it.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your location, to use BookForge.
If you use BookForge on behalf of a company, organization, school, client, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on that entity's behalf.
4. Your Account
You may need an account to save book projects, generate book plans, purchase packages, generate chapters, or export files.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, all activity under your account, providing accurate account information, not sharing your account in a way that violates these Terms, and not attempting to access another user's account, files, projects, or content.
If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us immediately at BookForge+support@journeful.app.
5. Your Content
Your Content means the ideas, notes, documents, research, text, files, drafts, prompts, source materials, uploads, images, author information, and other materials you provide to BookForge.
You retain ownership of Your Content.
By uploading or entering Your Content into BookForge, you grant BookForge a limited license to use, process, store, format, transmit, display, and analyze Your Content only as needed to provide the Service, operate your account, generate your book materials, process exports, provide support, improve reliability, enforce these Terms, prevent abuse, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
You are solely responsible for making sure you have the legal right to upload, use, transform, summarize, adapt, include, publish, or otherwise use any material you provide to BookForge. Do not upload or use material that you do not own or have permission to use.
6. User Responsibility for Content and Use
You are solely responsible for Your Content, uploaded materials, prompts, book project, generated materials, final book, exported files, and your publication, sale, submission, distribution, marketing, or sharing of any materials created using BookForge.
You are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, approving, and confirming the legality, originality, accuracy, rights, permissions, disclosures, and suitability of your final book before using it.
BookForge provides tools to help you create, organize, draft, revise, format, and export book materials. BookForge does not make publishing, copyright, originality, disclosure, or legal decisions for you.
7. Rights and Permissions
You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to upload, submit, use, transform, adapt, summarize, include, publish, or otherwise use any material you provide to BookForge.
You agree not to upload or use copyrighted, private, confidential, trademarked, or otherwise protected materials unless you have the legal right to do so.
You are responsible for obtaining permission from any co-authors, collaborators, interviewees, clients, employers, publishers, licensors, or rights holders when required.
8. Generated Content and Final Book Materials
BookForge may generate or assist in generating book plans, outlines, summaries, chapters, edits, rewrites, formatting suggestions, cover concepts, image prompts, images, exports, and other materials based on your instructions and inputs.
Subject to these Terms and your payment obligations, BookForge does not claim ownership over the final book content generated for your project.
Generated content may include errors, inaccuracies, incomplete statements, similar wording, invented details, or material that requires your review. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, and approving all generated content before publishing, selling, submitting, distributing, or relying on it.
BookForge does not guarantee that generated content will be accurate, complete, original, error-free, non-infringing, copyrightable, accepted by any third party, suitable for commercial publication without review, or free from required disclosure obligations.
9. Review, Feedback, and Approval
BookForge is designed as a guided book creation process. You may have opportunities to review, edit, revise, approve, reject, expand, shorten, or regenerate parts of your book during the creation process.
You are responsible for reviewing the book plan, chapter drafts, revisions, images, formatting, cover materials, and final export before publishing, selling, submitting, distributing, or sharing your book.
Your personal preference, change of mind, dissatisfaction with a draft, or failure to review and revise the book before use does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
10. Book Size, Page Count, and Scope
BookForge packages are based on estimated book size, selected package level, and included usage limits.
Page counts may vary based on formatting, font size, line spacing, image placement, trim size, chapter structure, export format, and the amount of content needed to create a strong book.
BookForge does not guarantee an exact page count unless expressly stated in writing. The final book should reasonably align with the approved book plan, selected package, and purchased scope.
11. Responsible Use
BookForge is built to help people create original books from their own ideas, stories, knowledge, notes, research, experiences, outlines, and drafts.
You agree not to use BookForge to upload protected works without permission, copy or imitate the unique voice of a specific author, create works based on copyrighted characters or fictional worlds without permission, create misleading or harmful content, violate another person's rights, remove plagiarism, misrepresent AI-assisted content when disclosure is required, or use the Service for illegal, abusive, fraudulent, or unauthorized purposes.
BookForge may block, limit, suspend, or terminate access if we believe the Service is being misused.
12. AI Assistance and Disclosure
BookForge may use artificial intelligence and third-party AI providers to help generate, revise, organize, format, or illustrate book materials.
Depending on where you publish, submit, register, sell, or distribute your book, you may be required to disclose AI-generated or AI-assisted content.
You are responsible for reviewing and following the rules of any publisher, platform, school, contest, client, organization, copyright office, or other third party that applies to your book.
BookForge does not provide legal advice about disclosure, copyright registration, publishing contracts, ownership rights, or platform rules.
13. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
AI-assisted tools can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or fabricated information.
You are responsible for checking facts, names, dates, quotes, research claims, legal, financial, medical, technical, or professional information, historical information, citations and source references, and any content that could affect a reader's decisions, rights, reputation, finances, health, safety, or legal obligations.
Do not rely on BookForge as a substitute for professional advice.
14. Payments and Book Packages
BookForge offers paid book packages based on book size, image options, export options, and included usage limits.
Prices may vary by package and may include limits on page count or target book size, rewrite credits, image credits, upload size, export count, generation usage, and other project resources.
Nothing in BookForge is unlimited unless explicitly stated in writing.
Payments are processed through Stripe or another third-party payment processor. BookForge does not store your full credit card number.
15. Refunds
BookForge provides customized digital book creation services. Because book plans, chapters, rewrites, formatting, covers, images, exports, and other generated materials are created based on your inputs and may begin shortly after purchase, payments are generally non-refundable once generation or paid processing begins.
Refunds are not guaranteed and may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Refunds generally will not be issued because you changed your mind, disliked a first draft, provided incomplete inputs, did not use available review tools, approved the direction and later wanted a different one, selected a package that did not fit the book idea, expected guaranteed publication or sales, used a substantial portion of the package, or violated these Terms.
To request a refund, contact BookForge at BookForge+support@journeful.app and include your account email, purchase date, package purchased, book project title, and a clear description of the issue.
16. Usage Limits
Each package includes specific usage limits. These may include rewrite credits, image credits, upload limits, export limits, and generation limits.
You may not attempt to bypass usage limits by creating multiple accounts, manipulating API calls, sharing credentials, reusing payment sessions, attempting unauthorized access, or exploiting bugs or technical errors.
17. File Uploads and Storage
BookForge may allow you to upload notes, drafts, documents, research, PDFs, DOCX files, TXT files, interview transcripts, or other source material.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to upload and use those files.
BookForge may store uploaded files and generated materials so you can access your book project. We may remove files that violate these Terms, create security risks, exceed storage limits, or are no longer needed to provide the Service.
18. Third-Party Services
BookForge may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, payment processing, AI processing, image generation, email, analytics, monitoring, or infrastructure.
These providers may include Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, DeepSeek, OpenAI, and other service providers used to operate BookForge.
Your use of BookForge may also be subject to those providers' terms and policies.
19. Prohibited Technical Activity
You agree not to reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service; interfere with security or operation; attempt to access another user's content; use bots or automation to abuse the Service; overload or attack the Service; circumvent usage limits; upload malware or harmful code; probe vulnerabilities without permission; or use the Service in violation of applicable laws.
20. No Publishing, Sales, or Income Guarantees
BookForge helps users create book materials, but we do not guarantee your book will sell, be accepted by a publisher, be approved by any platform, be copyrightable, be profitable, receive positive reviews, or meet any specific legal, educational, commercial, publishing, or platform standard.
21. Intellectual Property of BookForge
BookForge, including its software, design, branding, workflows, templates, website copy, logos, interface, and platform features, is owned by Journeful LLC or its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, resell, reverse engineer, or create a competing service using BookForge's protected materials without permission.
22. Copyright and Rights Complaints
If you believe content created, hosted, stored, or made available through BookForge infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at BookForge+support@journeful.app.
Please include your name and contact information, a description of the copyrighted or protected work, a description or location of the allegedly infringing material, a statement that you believe the use is not authorized, a statement that the information is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature.
23. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you violated these Terms, misused the Service, uploaded unlawful or infringing content, attempted to bypass payment or usage limits, created security risks, used the Service to harm others, or engaged in fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.
You may stop using BookForge at any time.
24. Service Availability
BookForge may change, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may perform maintenance, update features, change pricing, adjust limits, modify integrations, or discontinue certain features.
25. Disclaimers
BookForge is provided as is and as available.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookForge disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, security, and error-free operation.
BookForge does not guarantee that generated content, final books, exports, covers, images, or other materials will be accurate, original, legally compliant, copyrightable, non-infringing, commercially successful, or accepted by any third party.
26. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookForge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, lost data, publishing rejection, platform removal, copyright disputes, legal claims, reputational harm, or loss of goodwill.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookForge's total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to BookForge for the specific book package giving rise to the claim during the three months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars ($100).
27. Release and Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release BookForge from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your uploaded materials, prompts, generated content, final book, exported files, publication, sale, submission, distribution, sharing, failure to review, or disputes with third parties.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BookForge from claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your use or misuse of the Service, Your Content, your final book, violation of these Terms, violation of another person's rights, or publication and distribution of materials created using BookForge.
28. Disputes
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to first contact BookForge at BookForge+support@journeful.app with your name, account email, a description of the issue, and the relief you are requesting.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and BookForge agree that disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration instead of in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if the claim qualifies.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, and you agree not to bring or participate in any class action, collective action, consolidated action, private attorney general action, or representative proceeding against BookForge.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and BookForge knowingly and voluntarily waive any right to a trial by jury in any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service.
29. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes that are not subject to arbitration will be handled in the state or federal courts located in DeKalb County, Georgia, unless otherwise required by law.
30. Changes, Severability, and Entire Agreement
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide notice through the website, email, or your account. Your continued use of BookForge after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented to you for specific features or purchases, form the entire agreement between you and BookForge regarding the Service.
